01 — Rendez-Vous Hotel Addis Ababa

Giving a hotel its first impression — online.
Rendez-Vous had rooms worth booking and a story worth telling. What they didn't have was a website. No web presence at all — potential guests were either calling in or walking past. In a city like Addis Ababa, where hospitality decisions increasingly happen online before they happen in person, that was a real gap. The brief was straightforward: build something credible, fast. Two weeks. One person. A live site that could hold its own against properties with proper marketing budgets. The design question wasn't about decoration — it was about trust. Hotels live and die by the feeling a website creates before a guest ever checks in. Every decision had to answer the same question: does this make someone feel confident enough to book? That meant clean room showcasing over cluttered information, breathing room over feature-stuffed sections, and a mobile experience that worked as well as desktop, because that's where most visitors would land first. Built entirely in Framer, the site uses smooth scroll and custom components to create a sense of continuity across sections. Nothing jarring, nothing that interrupts the browsing flow. The structure moves a visitor from first impression to room showcase to contact — a quiet, deliberate path.

The Problem
No website. No credibility.
Rendez-Vous had rooms worth booking but nowhere online to show them. In a city where guests increasingly research before they reserve, the absence of a web presence meant lost trust before the conversation even started.

The Brief
Two weeks. One designer. A live site.
The ask was clear: build something credible fast. Showcase the rooms, communicate quality, and give potential guests a reason to choose Rendez-Vous over a competitor they found online first.

Design Direction
Trust before anything else.
Every decision was filtered through one question — does this make someone feel confident enough to book? That meant generous whitespace, clean room showcasing, and a layout that breathes rather than sells. Nothing cluttered, nothing competing.

Build
Designed in Figma. Brought to life in Framer.
Custom components, smooth scroll, and full mobile responsiveness — built natively in Framer. The structure moves a visitor from first impression to room showcase to contact without a single jarring moment.

Outcome
Live. On time. Client satisfied.
The site launched within the two-week window and has been live since. Rendez-Vous now has a web presence that matches the quality of the experience they offer inside the hotel.
